Dr Jack's BLIPMAPS are the best forecasting tool available yet. He provides contour plots showing expected thermal strength and the top of convection as well as several other parameters. They are usually available by 0000z for the next day. If you check nightly it will help determine whether or not the next day is going to be the day you do not want to miss.

Tephigrams from NOAA can also be used to predict the thermal
strength and top of convection. These interactive plots allow you to insert
the expected high temperature of the day at ground level by clicking on
the graph. The software then draws the wet and dry adiabats telling
you how high the lift will go, and if it will be a blue day or a Cu day. |
