SOSA Ground School

SOSA provides ground school instruction required for the Transport Canada Glider Pilot written exam. Students will receive a complete study kit, along with support material. The course can be used as credit for the glider pilot's licence. 
Course Dates:
4 Classes Thrusdays evening from 7 pm to 10 pm on April 7, 14, 21 and 28th of 2022

​The course satisfies Transport Canada's 15 hour of ground school instruction requirement.

Ground School Package

Registrants will receive a Ground School Study Package at the beginning of the course which includes:
  • From the Ground Up (standard text used in all Canadian flight training);
  • A USB storage device containing;
      - 450 Power Point slides comprising the entire course for home
​        study;
       - 14 Power Point learning modules focusing on specific gliding
       ​  maneuvers;
       - ASK 21 training glider Pilot’s Operating Handbook;
       - Aeronautical Information Manual
       - Sample Transport Canada exam and Sample Weather exam;
  • An Air Navigation chart; and
  • Other valuable information.

Passengers are taken by an experienced pilot to fly over southern Ontario, with views of Cambridge, Hamilton, the African Lion Safari, and Toronto in the distance. On a clear day, you can see all the way across Lake Erie to the mountains in Pennsylvania.

 
  • The cost is per person for a flight lasting up to 30 minutes
  • Maximum weight for a passenger is 230 Lbs
  • Please allow one week for email delivery of the certificate
  • Scheduling of the flight is done via email post-purchase


We primarily fly introductory flights on Saturday's & Sunday's, after 1:00PM.

We also offer mid-week introductory flights with various time slots available depending on pilot availability.
