Joining SOSA
We would be delighted to have you join us as a member and we sincerely hope that you will be a part of the club for many years to come.
Life as a member
SOSA is a non-profit organization that runs on the generosity of volunteers. Everyone from Tow Pilot, Instructor, Timekeeper, wing runner, and grass cutter serves on a voluntary basis and everyone gives freely his/her time to make SOSA function smoothly. To emphasize, all of the flying instruction at SOSA is completely without additional charge and this keeps the overall cost of your flying training down. As a result new members are expected to pitch in and help around the club. This makes for a great community spirit.
The single most important tip for a new member is to make yourself at home, enjoy our Club and above all have fun. As a new member you may find the procedures, aircraft, facilities and people unfamiliar. However, please ask other members about aspects of the club and about how to get the most out of the club. You will find that your fellow SOSA members are keen to see you enjoy flying and will be happy to help you as needed.
