Flying Operation April 2021 Update

A few changes to our flying operation from a week ago, in response to changes in provincial regulations.​

Permitted at SOSA

Solo flying for any who qualify through requirements published by the CFI.
Doing maintenance work on SOSA or personal property.
Fleet Update
All SZD gliders (Juniors and Puchacz) grounded until further notice due to a maintenance
bulletin from the manufacturer.
Required to be at SOSA
  • Consider Ontario Government’s “request” that you not cross health regions for any activity.
  • Remember that SOSA is an outdoor recreational amenity/exercise facility, and is to be used for this purpose only.
  • Report any positive COVID test, and any vaccination, to health monitor Pat Wood.
  • Register your intentions for the day in Click n Glide.
  • Complete the Ontario COVID screening tool and save to your phone or print the resulting pdf and have with you at SOSA to show if asked. DO NOT come to SOSA if you do not pass this screen.
  • Do not come to SOSA without a mask. If you have no mask, stay home.
  • Maintain distance of 2 meters, or wear if you cannot or likely will not maintain 2 meters of separation.
  • Only 5 people maximum to be congregated at any location on the property, maintaining 2 meters distance or wearing masks.
  • Remember to clean/disinfect equipment and aircraft (refer to SOSA protocols) before and after use and wash hands frequently
  • Do not bring the bus to the flight line.
  • Only one person in the clubhouse at a time, for use of washroom only.
  • May stay overnight in camping trailers that are fully self sufficient

IF THERE IS ANY INQUIRY IN PERSON OR ON PHONE FROM A PUBLIC HEALTH INSPECTOR, NEIGHBOUR OR OTHER OFFICIAL, PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS SOSA OPERATIONS WITH THEM BUT REFER THEM TO A BOARD MEMBER. PHONE NUMBERS ARE POSTED INSIDE THE ENTRY TO THE CLUBHOUSE, IN THE LARGE HANGAR BESIDE SIDE DOOR, IN THE BUS, AND ON CLICK N GLIDE.
