OLC Flights in 2016 (so far)

1/8/2016

Congratulations SOSA pilots,

July brought us great weather and great flights. #1 in Canada.

As of 31 July, we have reached 75,000 km recorded on the OLC while Canadian Rockies is at 57,000 km.  (At the end of June, our SOSA club total of 44,200 km was just 100 km ahead of Canadian Rockies at 44,100 km.)

Montreal is still doing very well in second place with 63,000km.

The graph below shows three months of excellent SOSA cross-country flights in a row. If we maintain this pace through August we could reach nearly 100,000 km for the season. (In August 2013 we recorded 22,000km.) This would be far beyond our previous best season total.

40 SOSA pilots have contributed to this great total so far. We are happy to welcome more. Last year 44 SOSA pilots contributed to the total, so if a few more would like to start adding their flights to the OLC total for the club, we would be happy to reach last year’s participation record as well.

Every 50 km counts. Fly safe.
