Last Sunday, Feb 17, the thermometer in New Hamburg showed minus 19 in the morning. But it "warmed" up quickly to minus 9 once the sun was out and it turned into a beautiful day with plenty of cu in the sky. The hangar doors were opened by the determined group led by Sorin but in the end we had to cancel flying because the crusty snow made it impossible to move airplanes around. It still was great to be out. Krzys took this photo when we inspected the runway. I thought I share it with you since it pretty much tells the story.
SOSA has been active with winch launching many weekend days throughout the winter. In January we even had mixed operation, aerotow and winch. Youssef and I enjoyed a nice thermal flight. We came down after 45 minutes to give others the opportunity and because we were getting pretty cold.
